1. Overview
RezRescue uses a minimal number of cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies that track you across websites.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and your choices regarding cookies. This policy was last updated on February 26, 2026.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website operators.
3. Cookies We Use
Authentication Cookies (Essential)
Provider: Supabase (our authentication provider)
Purpose: These cookies maintain your login session so you don't have to sign in on every page visit. They store a secure session token that identifies your account.
Duration: Until you sign out or the session expires (7 days of inactivity).
Can be disabled: No — these are required for the platform to function. Without them, you cannot stay logged in.
Payment Cookies (Functional)
Provider: Stripe (our payment processor)
Purpose: When you make a payment, Stripe may set cookies to prevent fraud and process your payment securely.
Duration: Varies; typically session-based.
Can be disabled: No — these are required to process payments securely.
Theme Preference (Functional)
Provider: RezRescue
Purpose: Stores your light/dark mode preference so the site appears in your chosen theme on return visits.
Duration: 1 year.
Can be disabled: Yes — but your theme preference won't be remembered.
4. No Tracking or Advertising Cookies
RezRescue does not use:
- Advertising or remarketing cookies
- Third-party tracking cookies (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Cross-site tracking technologies
- Fingerprinting or similar identification methods
We use PostHog for basic product analytics (page views, feature usage) in production only. PostHog is configured to respect Do Not Track (DNT) headers and does not set persistent tracking cookies.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, if you block essential cookies, you will not be able to use RezRescue's authenticated features.
